Sewing class Tech

This term for tech we were in sewing. How I made the tote bag? Firstly we had to practice how to run the machine and also how to fix it. Secondly we had to measure how long and wide our bags have to be. Thirdly we had to pick our material to make the bag. As we did that we had to cut up the material the size we have measured on our piece of cardboard.  After we measured our bag it was time for us to work on our handles. We had to cut up a long piece of fabric and then we had to line it with a ruler, Then we had to sew the end of the side together and leave one end of the handle open and the other end closed. After sewing the handle we had to put the stick through the handle on the opened end and try to make it inside out. After doing that we had to move on to our bag. We had to line the bag with the ruler, after we done that we sewed the sides of the bag. After finishing the handle and the bag Mrs Tuipulotu had to do the rest. We found this pretty difficult but we know in the future it will be worth it.

Fizzing and Foaming

WALT: determine whether a substance is an acidic, basic or neutral

So I mixed baking soda, red tomato sauce, ice sugar, dish washing liquid and juices in different cups. But first we had to boil the cabbage juice before we put our substances in.
What was the most Basic: The most basic in our experiments was dishwashing liquid because it was green.

What was the most Acidic: the most basic in our experiment was orange juice. What happened: It was all different colours depending on how Acidic, Neutral and Basic a substance was. So now we have learnt everything new about Acid, Neutral and even Bases… I hope we know all of them now.

Today for our exercise we did Prototec. I did stage 6 I got 100%. I found this easy and I can improve to learn more.

Prototec 7/8/17

This morning for our basic facts. I did prototec i did stage 6 in 8 minutes and 24 seconds. I got 100% on stage 6. I found this easy but because I got 5 minutes and 44 second i was talking. This was easy and tomorrow I will be doing stage 7 on prototec.

Today for inquiry I have done how things work. We had to get in groups of 3 and we have to find some sort of machine to open and carry a box.I found this pretty easy no wonder why it is called simple machine.

Math prototec

This morning for our basic facts. I did prototec i did stage 6 in 8 minutes and 24 seconds. I got 100% on stage 6. I found this easy but because I got 8 minutes and 24 second i was talking. This was easy and tomorrow I will be doing stage 7 on prototec. When I do prototec I have to stop talking while I do my test on prototec.

Multiplying decimals

Today we learned a new strategy it was multiplying decimals. I found this kind of hard and easy.But I can improved by learning more.

 Today after morning tea we had to do changing speech bubbles to dialogue.I found this easy because I just did simple sentences so that I can finish very quick so that I could be on task 2 and that is Read theory.

After lunch we went on Authors Purpose Battleship.I found this hard because I didn't knew some because I got confused on some of the question.Because they told us that some other questions.

Using algorithms in maths.

Today in my class we did maths as Collaborative Problem solving.We had 3 questions, they were 8 x 7,  96 x 8 , and 12.5 x 8. We did 96 x 8 using algorithms.We picked algorithms because it was more faster to use. I did this DLO with my friend we both did half.

Authors Purpose Game

After inference reading I did this with my friend Sarah. Sarah was player one and I was player two.The game was Author's Purpose game they will give you a story and you have to see if it was Inform or Persuade and Entertain. After you choose the question you have to summit and see if it is right.I found it easy because I already knew some question but I still won.

Detective Game

Today I have done an inference game in my class. I found this pretty hard because I didn't know some of the question. Thanks to my buddy I got to understand it and got to know them better.

Today in class I did a prototec practise test and I was so happy because I scored 100% on Stage 6. Next time I would have to be on stage 7. I found this very easy because I knew some of the question I knew off by heart.

Today I did Kahoot. I came 3rd place I found it easy because the question was about Mean,Median,Mode and Range. What does Mean means? The sum of a group of numbers, are in the group. You have to add up all the numbers then divide by how many numbers there are.What does Median mean? The Median is the middle of a sorted list of number.Put the numbers in order from smallest to largest.Find the number in the middle.If you have two numbers in the middle, add them together and divide them by 2. What does Mode means?To find the mode, or modal value, first A number that appears the most is Mode.Put the numbers in order from smallest to largest.Count how many of each number.Find the number that appears the most.What does Range means? The Range is the difference between the lowest and highest number.Find the largest number.Find the smallest number.Subtract the largest number by the smallest number.

Today in my class I did prototec. I scored 77% on stage 7 I found it hard because there was some hard question. I have to learn some of my fraction and percentages.

Today on this game called equivalent fraction I scored 100% in level 3.I found this hard because I did know some question.Also I was confused on some question.

DLO - Math

Frank runs 7.6 kilometers every morning. One day , he runs 2.9 kilometers and then stops to take a break.How  much further does Frank have left to run.

Today I had to create a DLO. So I had 7.6 - 2.9 so I algorithms 7.6 - 2.9. So I subtracted 6 and 6 and that is 9 but I can’t subtracted 6 and 9 so i borrowed 1 from 7 and that becomes 6 and i subtracted 15 and 9 and that is 7. After that I subtracted 7 and 2 and that is 4 so the answer is 4.7…..

It was easy because i used algorithms.

I created a DLO to solve multiplication problems. Here is how i solved mine, First I did 8 x 70 or you could do 8 x 7 = 56 then add a 0 to it that will be 560 then I did 8 x 9 that equals 72 then I added 560 and 72 together that equals 632.

English maven.

English maven is the site we used to do our activity. It is very interesting you can learn your vocabulary on the english maven.You can also learn your verbs and noun on the site too.

What we were cooking at technogley

Today we were cooking chicken and chips. We cooked with Miss Heka she told us what to do by step by step.First we had to wash our hands then put on our cooking t-shirt.Next we had to get a partner and go and choose a table i was with 3 people they were Mahaleah and Ferri. First step was 1 person had to get the trolley and another person had to get the frying pan and one when you put the chips on the thing(don't know what is it called).Next step one person had to get flour and their chicken  and the other person had to come with their medium bowl and put bread crumbs,cheese, and herbs.Third step one person had to come with their small bowl and get one egg and crack it and put it into the bowl then stirl it.Fourth step you had to get the chicken and put it inside the bread crumbs then put it into the yolk of the egg and then put it into the bread crumbs.5th step you have to get the frying pad and put 2 teaspoon into the frying pan the just wait  Ms until Heka comes around with the lighter and pt lights up the stone.You can either put 5 chicken inside the frying pad but instead we did 3 inside frying pan and we made it crispy.Then Miss Heka said she will say numbers to 5 and each person from the able comes and collects their fries. So we were the last number to be called and first we had to put the fried at the bottom then the chicken then we add tomato sauce and mayonnaise.The View

Paragraph one: the colour of the water

The water at Omaru River was polluted.  It looked gross.  And because of all the sediment and muck that was inside. Because of the dirty water  we can tell that the Omaru River is polluted.

Paragraph two: insects living in the river

The type of insects in the river was worms.  Worms were the only insects inside the polluted water.  This is because the water was dirty.  Dragonfly can not survive polluted water.  Only having worms tells us that the Omaru River is  polluted because they can stand polluted water.

Paragraph three: rubbish

There was no rubbish inside the water.  This is good because rubbish should not be inside the river.  Rubbish

Today in maths i created a DLO my walt was I am learning to solve subtraction problems where i am subtracting a number which is close to ten from a number that is less than 100.However i done it i take the nearest one to tenths than i take away another number from the other one. That is what i done for my maths today.

Indira’s family want to buy pizza for dinner. The males in the family will eat 47 pieces, and the females will eat 26. How many pieces of pizza will Indira’s family eat in total.

So you have to use tidy numbers or something else. I use tidy number so what i did is i plus 3 to 47 and that makes 50 so then i take away 3 from 26 and that is 23. So then after that i plus 50 and 26 together and that makes 73.

Swimming

In the morning we went to the swimming pool. There was 3 people at the swimming pool but then they asked me if i was new and i said yes so then they told me to go and shower then jump on the pool. When i went inside the pool they taught me to get a broad and kick with it and all those other skills. Then after they taught me what to do they put me inside group 2 that's the second best swimmers group 3 is the best.We did freestyle,backstroke,floating on our stomach,and breaststroke. After we swam we went and change.
